Heavyweight Cotton (Cotton & GSM Explained)

GSM stands for "Grams per Square Meter" and describes the weight of a fabric per square meter.

The higher the GSM value, the denser and heavier the fabric.

A 200 GSM T-shirt feels noticeably different from a light, standard shirt at 140–160 GSM:

  • It has more substance and structure

  • It drapes more cleanly on the body (a better "drop")

  • It looks and feels higher quality, less "thin"

  • It holds its shape even after many washes

Why does it last longer?

Because densely woven cotton stretches out less, stays more stable, and is less prone to deformation.

Why does it feel better?

Because the fabric carries more weight, feels more substantial, and doesn't cling to the body or look thin — a decisive factor, especially during training.

Why does it cost more?

Because it requires more material, higher-quality yarns, and a more involved weaving process.

What Quality Really Costs

A premium gym shirt isn't the result of a single step, but of many involved processes:

  • Fabric selection and material testing

  • Pattern development and fit optimization

  • Multiple development and sampling rounds

  • Production adjustments and technical corrections

  • Quality controls (including wash tests and stress tests)

  • Smaller production runs instead of mass manufacturing

  • Packaging and logistics effort

Every single sample is produced, tested, adjusted, or discarded — until the result meets our own standards.

High-Density Screen Printing

For our first collection, we use a premium high-density screen printing process.

This print is significantly more durable and involved than standard printing methods.

Why is it more expensive?

  • Multiple print layers for greater durability

  • More precise processing

  • Longer production time per piece

  • Stricter quality control

The result is a print that stays clear, sharp, and stable even after many workouts and washes.

Made in Portugal vs. Mass Production

We deliberately chose production in Portugal.

Not because other countries are worse — but because this setup best fits our requirements:

  • smaller, specialized production runs instead of mass manufacturing

  • more direct exchange with production partners

  • tighter quality control at every step

  • European standards in working conditions and production

  • fairer, more transparent work processes

  • shorter transport routes within Europe

This decision is based not on marketing, but on quality, control, and responsibility.

Japanese Philosophy & Collections

Our brand draws heavily on Japanese principles.

Terms like Chanto (ちゃんと) or Nintai (忍耐) are neither accidental nor decorative.

Every collection with a Japanese name carries a real meaning, deeply connected to training, character, and growth.

We see it as our responsibility not just to use these terms, but to understand and explain them correctly.

Many brands use Japanese characters without meaning or context.

We deliberately take a different path:

  • Every term has a clear definition

  • Every collection tells a fitting story

  • Every meaning is explained and respected

NINTAI was only the beginning of this philosophy.

Future collections will carry further values — always with real meaning, never as a mere design element.
